Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Agustin Ramos grew up listening to tango. A musician in his own right, he possesses a deep understanding of the music of tango and its passion, making his approach to the dance one of self-expression and artistry. Agustin’s partner, Cassandra George, had been dancing swing for five years when she discovered tango. To her, no other dance form offers such intimacy and sense of partnership, and few other music forms express the deepest longings of the human spirit.
For the past two years, Agustin and Cassandra have taught numerous classes in Argentine tango, including weekend workshops at the renowned Beantown Swing Dance Camp in Boston. They have performed widely in upstate New York and were honored to perform at the annual tango festival commemorating Carlos Gardel’s birthday in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Both Agustin and Cassandra have traveled to “the cradle of tango”, Buenos Aires, for intensive classes with some of the world’s greatest tangueros.
